Monthly pet boxes were first mentioned to me by my friend Laura, and I couldn’t stop debating whether or not it was worth it to purchase them. I kept seeing the ads for one called Bark Box everyday on my Facebook. For a while, I was spending quite a bit on toys and trying different treats. The toys would break or be destroyed within 5 minutes of play, and since I usually find myself in the grocery store that is close to my office I won’t dare to buy any dog treats from there. Hmm, beef and bacon flavour? Funny, there’s not one mention of either in the ingredients!
So I had to ask myself, is paying $19 a month (6 month plan) / $23 a month (3 month plan) worth it? How much do I spend on Bain a month? So many questions, and… I caved! And I caved to a great company – Bugsy’s Box!
So, what is Bugsy’s Box? It is a monthly subscription for a box of goodies for your dog. Once a month, you will receive 5-7 items that are hand picked. The box includes dog treats, toys and care items!
Because I wanted to try it once I went for the monthly plan for $29, and if we liked it (and we do!) I was going to switch to the 3 month plan. When you first go onto their website, you will see a pop up offering you a $10 off coupon code for signing up. $10 off? Sure, let’s do it! After signing up, I waited about 20 minutes and did not receive it in my email so I just decided to order a box anyway.
After ordering, the coupon code had gone through and I received it in my email (of course!). I sent a message to customer service, and I got a prompt response from a James A. saying that he would refund me $10 on my visa card instead. Bugsy’s box was starting to look even better to me!
Today, we received the box. Here are the goodies inside!
This is Muddles the Pig. Very suitable as I call Bain my little piggy, he definitely snorts like one. I was happy to receive a toy for Bain, but was very skeptical. I was waiting for the pig to stop squeaking since Bain destroys most toys within minutes. So far, I can still hear squeaking in the background as I type! As well as the thunder of paws above me. This toy comes with two squeakers inside, and is machine washable.
Muddles the Pig comes from PrideBites – http://pridebites.com/ This company makes custom dog toys, and was awarded Best Dog Toy of 2012 by Dogington Post. Also, for every toy sold PrideBites donates $1 to animal shelters and various organizations that help dogs in need. #jointhemovement
Our next item on the list!
Introducing – Pupchips! The yummy snack for your dog to have without spoiling his dinner. I was very surprised to receive this since I was just on their website http://www.pupchips.com/ last week. I had almost ordered a few bags for Bain, but figured I would wait for his box to come in the mail. Thankfully we did! And as you can tell, he is loving them. It’s very fun to try out different treats like these, since I can get his attention very easily on walks with them.
For a limited time, Pupchips is offering free shipping. Get your paws on these flavours now!
Fat Chips (large) – Sweet Potato
Skinny Chips (thin) – Sweet Potato
Coconut Chips – Coconut
Apple Chips – Apple
Simple, just how we like it!
Our next item!
So far, this seems to be Bain’s favorite. This is made with Green Tea extract, and the fragrance is surprisingly nice! Bain was obsessed before I even opened the bag. I’ve never heard of these before, but I am definitely a fan now.
These are In Clover Grin Treats and are for fresh breath, teeth and tummies! You can view their website here. These are soft chews, and Bain absolutely loves the flavour! When I see these in stores, I will definitely be purchasing more bags as a special treat.
Another In Clover item!
As much as I really wanted to open this one, I let it be for now. I didn’t want to open too many things at once, because if I did I would not have any left by the end of the week! These In Clover Jump treats are for joint health and are made with ginger root and coconut oil, so I’m really looking forward to what these will smell like as well! Jump is formulated with glucosamine, msm and fish oil.
Jump on these delicious treats today!
Our last item!
Essential for any dog owner, let’s start cleaning keeping the streets clean with Bark+ Doggie Waste Bags. All 160 of them! There have only have been a couple of times that doggy waste bags have been the one item I forget at the grocery store, which makes me end up carrying around grocery bags to clean up waste. So I will not have to worry about them for a while. These bags are non-scented and oxo-biodegradable.
So that sums it all up! We are VERY happy with our first box, so now the hard part is just waiting for the next one.
